We have a wide range of people we work with, including young people, designers, public health professionals, people working in the creative industries, community workers, clinicians, researchers, facilitators, and service management and policy people. innovate change gathers teams together to work on specific projects in collaboration with the organisations we work with. We have great networks and have brought amazing people like Pat Watson, Debbie Edwards, Dr Patrick Vakaoti, Ben Birks-Ang, Dr Terry Fleming and Kirsty Pillay-Hansen onto project teams recently. Simon has done heaps of different work in the people business and has a background in social work, child and youth development, public health, and health care policy, planning and funding. He has worked in the New Zealand and UK health sectors and in NGOs in both New Zealand and overseas. Simon has managed a youth led primary healthcare service, worked in policy roles in central government, and in senior roles leading the planning and funding of primary and community healthcare. Before innovate change Simon worked as Director HIV Prevention and International at the New Zealand AIDS Foundation. Simon leads innovate change and is really excited about using social innovation to improve health and well-being. simon@innovatechange.co.nz Emma is passionate about achieving social change through creative processes, well-designed services and programmes, and evaluation for learning. Before joining innovate change , Emma was researching and teaching. She has worked in universities in New Zealand, Australia, France and Cambodia, as well as in communications and administrative roles in the private and not-for-profit sectors. Her PhD in cultural policy examined the contribution of local government art programmes to community wellbeing in New Zealand and Australia. In addition to working full time at innovate change , Emma serves as Chair of the Board of Show Me Shorts Film Festival and as a Committee Member of the Alliance Francaise Auckland. emma@innovatechange.co.nz Alex comes from a background of designing communications, visuals and human-centered systems, and brings a commitment to creative, powerful and respectful solutions for real challenges. A big chunk of his life has been spent exploring how people work, what we need and how we change, studying individual and group change psychology. Outside of his full time role at innovate change , Alex is active in bringing the social enterprise and innovation community together and strengthening our impacts. Grateful that his daughters are growing up in a time where compassion, respect and empowerment are being brought to the fore, Alex is overjoyed to be part of the innovate change team and the social innovation movement. alex@innovatechange.co.nz

With her roots in design innovation and cultural anthropology, Kelly Ann is a passionate advocate of co-creation, critical design thinking, and helping organisations to help themselves through building their internal service design and social innovation capabilities.
Kelly Ann has extensive experience in ideating new services as well as evaluating and helping to improve those that already exist. She has worked across a diverse set of challenges in both the public and private sectors. Kelly Ann joins us from Optimal Experience at PwC where she worked as a consultant and human-centered design specialist. Outside of work Kelly Ann is a frequent public speaker, educator and dachshund fiend.

Penny mentors design teams and clients in the use of co-design methods and assists organisations to take a collaborative and design-led approach to the development of organisational process, strategy, products and services. Over the last 15 years Penny has designed and led a range of participatory online and interactive projects in Australia and New Zealand working across community, commercial and academic sectors. Returning to Auckland in 2012, Penny joined the Digital Arts Network as their UX Director. Penny remains a Visiting Scholar at the University of Technology, Sydney and is a guest lecturer at the Auckland University of Technology. Penny brings co-design expertise, design-led approaches and strong research and social innovation training skills to her role with innovate change .

Pat is a community development champion with a proven record of making things happen, through collaboration, strategic relationships, vision and enthusiasm. Pat was the Chief Executive of Community Waitakere for 5 years, and prior to that had a career with Barnardos NZ which spanned 25 years, and more than 20 different roles locally, regionally and nationally. Pat sits on the boards of several national trusts and has developed extensive networks in the community, local and central government sectors. Pat is currently working on the parenting innovation process in Waitakere. pat@innovatechange.co.nz
