According to ACMA, Grand Rush, Jackpot Jill, Koala Royal, National Casino, and Juicy Stakes were found to be operating in violation of Australia’s Interactive Gambling Act 2001. These sites were investigated by ACMA following numerous complaints.

ACMA warns consumers that even if a service appears legitimate, it is unlikely to offer important customer protections. Australians who use illegal gambling services face the risk of losing their money.

Since November 2019, ACMA has been exercising its newly granted enforcement powers by requesting the blocking of 295 gambling websites operating illegally in Australia. Additionally, over 140 unlicensed services have voluntarily exited the Australian market due to the ACMA’s enforcement of new illegal offshore gambling regulations, which began in 2017.

ACMA highlights that website blocking serves as an effective way to inform the public about illegal gambling services through notifications that appear when attempting to access these sites.

In its recent actions, ACMA issued blocking orders against seven affiliate gambling advertising websites. Australian Internet Service Providers (ISPs) were instructed to block access to Aussie Casino Hex, Australia OK Casinos, Aussie Online Pokies, Pokies, Australian Casino Club, Australian Gambling, and True Blue Casinos.
